Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The technique involves placing very thin needles into specific "points" which manipulate Qi (pronounced "chi"). Qi is the life force that travels throughout the body in specific pathways. If the passage of Qi is blocked or the flow becomes turbulent, a diseased state may follow. While the principles of traditional acupuncture are very abstract, modern science currently supports its efficacy as a mode of therapy. Current situations that may benefit from acupuncture include but are not limited to:

Musculoskeletal disorders – tendon/ligament, back pain, sore muscles
Respiratory Problems – allergies, left laryngeal hemiplasia
Immune mediated disorders – inflammatory airway disease, inflammatory bowel disease, allergies
Reproductive Issues – subfertile mares, cryptorchidism
Chronic Pain – navicular syndrome, arthritis
Neurologic disorders – equine lower motor neuron disease, wobbler's, EPM
